Technician II Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets.  Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.   Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual with a positive outlook for our Technician II to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations in Mobile, AL.    Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following: * Protective relaying and relaying systems * Circuit Breakers * Power Transformers * Current and Potential Transformers * Meters, Transducers, and Power system metering * Power Cables * Grounding Systems * Motors and Motor Starters * Station Batteries and Chargers * Alarm systems and Annunciators * Personal Protective Equipment * Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and/or repairs * Generate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommended * Represent the company in a professional manner regarding communicating and interfacing with clients  * Communicate effectively with the company management team on a regular basis regarding project status and the scheduling of manpower and equipment  * Always make safety a top priority, realizing that the company has Zero Tolerance for those who do otherwise * Perform other job-related duties as requested by management. Qualifications: * Power DB knowledge a plus  * Word processing, spread sheet and e-mail software  * Mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry  * Broad knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals (Electrical)  * Broad knowledge of the major components of a substation  * Broad knowledge of control and protection systems (Electrical)  * Knowledge of high-voltage electric field theory (Electrical)  * Broad knowledge of electrical code and standards (NEC, NESC, and applicable IEEE and ANSI) (Electrical)  * Broad knowledge of civil / structural codes and standards (NESC, and applicable IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI) (Civil / Structural)  * Broad knowledge of the function of major electrical equipment  * Broad knowledge of ground grid theory and design (Electrical)  * Effective oral and written communications  * Knowledge of the types of drawings required to construct an electrical substation  * Knowledge of drafting standards  * Working in a team environment  * Communicating effectively with co-workers  * Valid driver’s license * Ability to travel 50% required    Safety is a Core Value with our organization.
