As a Technician II – Security with Paladin Technologies, you will collaboratively review, understand, analyze (for correctness), and implement installation blueprints and plans from Project Managers and Sales Teams to complete installations.
This role requires the ability and know-how to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

Our Integrated Systems Technicians are responsible for installing and servicing electronic systems across Security, Data, and Audio-Visual (AV) divisions, including access control, CCTV, structured cabling, and AV solutions.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control, and related security equipment.
  • Install and service structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber), including termination, labeling, testing, and reporting.
  • Support AV infrastructure setup, including installation of basic audio-visual equipment and rack building.
  • Perform cable pulling, termination, and routing in commercial environments.
  • Read and interpret system diagrams, floor plans, and construction drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning security and data/AV systems.
  • Provide end-user training on system operation and respond to technical inquiries.
  • Complete detailed and accurate documentation, including OHS checklists, test results, and project updates.
  • Perform work safely and professionally, adhering to Paladin’s Quality and Safety programs.
  • Support, lead, and mentor junior technicians on-site.
  • Maintain clear communication with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • You may be required to be “on-call” before or after your regularly scheduled hours, and/or on a day when you are not regularly scheduled to work.
  • You may be required to work “night shifts” when needed based on project/service requirements.
  • Monday to Friday work schedule, with flexibility as required by projects.
  • Out-of-town work may be required based on project locations.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical role within the electrical or low-voltage field.
  • Proficiency in cable pulling, installation, and basic troubleshooting across low-voltage systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • Able to work independently and adapt to various site conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with security systems, CCTV, and alarms considered an asset.
  • Basic familiarity with AV system installation and rack building (Crestron, Extron, or Biamp experience considered an asset).
  • Vendor certification in low-voltage, cabling, or AV systems considered an asset (e.g., BICSI, Extron, Crestron, CFOT).
  • Post-secondary training in electronics, telecommunications, or related technical field.
  • Experience working in commercial environments such as healthcare, education, or hospitality.
