Description The Tank Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing industrial tanks, vessels, and containers used in manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, and storage operations. This role requires strong attention to safety, the ability to work in confined spaces, and adherence to environmental and company procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and comfortable working in various industrial environments. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Clean and decontaminate storage tanks, vessels, pits, and trenches following company and OSHA safety requirements. Enter confined spaces using approved entry procedures, PPE, and atmospheric testing equipment. Operate high-pressure washers, vac trucks, hoses, pumps, and other cleaning equipment. Remove sludge, residues, product buildup, and debris from tanks and surrounding areas. Assist in equipment setup and breakdown before and after cleaning tasks. Follow job-specific safety plans, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard communication, and respiratory protection protocols. Document work performed and complete required job forms and reports. Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently. Maintain tools, PPE, and work areas in clean, safe condition. Follow all environmental regulations related to waste handling, disposal, and spill prevention. Qualifications: Previous tank cleaning or industrial labor experience preferred (not required). Ability to work in confined spaces and wear full PPE, including respirators and protective suits. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding environments. Must pass required fit tests and medical evaluations for respirator use. Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed instructions. Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL is a plus. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed. Must Have a TWIC Skills Needed: Understanding of basic industrial safety practices Familiarity with cleaning equipment (pressure washers, vac trucks, pumps) Ability to work as part of a team Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to read and follow safety procedures and work orders PMI03
