Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technician, Inventory & Supplies is responsible for reception of all commodities ordered or imported, proper storage (both on and off site), inventory, distribution to operations groups, on site stockroom.

WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE

  • Responsible for preparing operation’s orders, storage, and inventory tracking of the laboratory and operational supplies.
  • Responsible for carrying out receiving duties including, un-packing, product and count verification, reception processing, and storing materials.
  • Responsible for receiving samples and ensuring immediate transfer to relevant laboratory groups as a priority.
  • Maintaining online systems for inventory control (VSR/Workday) up to date for all locations, primary stocking locations, and secondary storage areas.
  • Generate reporting for the inventory items depending on the requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that inventory levels are sufficient in the primary and secondary locations to maintain all on-site operations.
  • Familiar with inventory concepts and common practices (Min/Max, UofM, SKU, Cost Center, Replenishments, Cycle Counts, etc.)
  • Responsible for the coordination of materials stored/received at off-site storage, driving to off-site location.
  • Splitting days at off-site storage for preparation, receipt, and inventory as required.
  • Coordinating material returns to vendors.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentorship for Inventory & Supplies Technicians as needed.
  • Conduct all work compliant with SOPs, GLPs, GCPs, and company guidelines and policies.
  • Maintained an organized, tidy, and well-kept garage area.
  • Act as a backup for Import/Export for Shipping Specialist when needed.
  • Responsible for the transfer of off-site transport of materials.
  • Manage hazardous waste: Being present during pick-ups by designated waste contractors, ensuring all is properly prepared for transport and appropriate packaging for waste is available to the labs at all times.
  • Submit orders for inventory replenishment purposes and liaison with the procurement buyers to order materials and follow up with delivery times.
  • Provide timely communication to the departments as required concerning discontinued products, vendor delays, dry-ice shortages, and other as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
