Description:
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Operations Loader will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Five or more years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions encountered during a shift
- Valid Class 5 Canadian Driver’s License required
- Experience in an open pit mining environment
- Collaborative work style – willing to participate in solving problems and comfortable working in a team environment
- A record of excellent attendance
- Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
- Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of heavy equipment’s which include 793 CAT Haul Truck, 994 CAT Wheel Loader, 7495 CAT rope shovel, 4000 Komatsu excavator, 395 cat excavator, D8 & D10 dozer, M16 and M24 grader.
- Assist with the operational integrity of the Mining department as required; to achieve safety, environmental, quality, costs, production and continuous improvement targets
- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports
- Report unsafe mechanical conditions to shop foreman and supervisor
- Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions
- Actively participate in set policies and procedures as well as actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
