Job Purpose Qualification: Graduate; 1st division in 10th, 12th and GNM Nursing/BSc Nursing/M.Sc Nursing Relevant Experience: 16 + years of experience in field of Nursing, Directing the nursing programme including implementing new policy and procedure where necessary. Overseeing hiring and development of nursing staff. supervisors Responsibilities Planning and organization and development of nursing service in the hospital. Allocates department resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable quality nursing care Planning and implementation of nursing training. Conducts and attends to departmental and interdepartmental meeting from time to time. Makes regular rounds of the department. Sees to the general safety and cleanliness of the department Oversees the comforts and needs of the patient and family. Receives night report of the department Evaluates nature and quantum of care required in each ward. Oversees rotation plan for nursing staff within their jurisdiction. Plans ward management with the ward in charges. Reinforces the principles of good ward management in each ward. Supervises proper use of and care of equipment and supplies in the department. Obtaining consultant’s feedback regarding nursing care and take appropriate corrective measures. Officiates in the absence of the Nursing Head.
