Technician, Operating Room Entity: Aga Khan University Hospital Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: The Department of Anaesthesia at the Aga Khan University Hospital provides perioperative care and other operating room facilities for all surgical procedures, intensive care to critically ill surgical patients in the surgical intensive care unit, as well as acute and chronic pain management services. Our department has a mix of anesthesiologists, qualified nurses, and highly trained surgical and anesthesia technicians. Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: receive and identify patients correctly for surgery/procedures check the patient’s schedule for surgery in the Operating Room and takeover of the patient’s file complete all per-operative documentation about the patient’s surgery ensure all specimens removed during surgery are correctly labeled and dispatched for necessary investigation as advised by the surgeon scrub for designated cases, displaying competence for different areas as per the scope of services of the hospital assists in the safe transportation of patients within the unit before and after surgery report any problem with equipment to the supervisor immediately for timely rectification coordinate with the supervisor in the smooth running of the OR list assist in preoperative patient preparation. Requirements: You should have: a Matriculation, Intermediate will be preferred Diploma in OT Technician at least one year of relevant experience from a reputed healthcare organization ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently and handle work pressure willingness to work in shift duties. Note: Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted and only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Responsibilities
The technician will be responsible for receiving and identifying patients for surgery, completing pre-operative documentation, and ensuring proper labeling of specimens. They will also assist in patient transportation and report equipment issues to supervisors.
