Job Overview The Print Production Technician will perform skilled work in the operation and maintenance of digital production printers, and other related printing equipment to produce a wide variety of printed materials for use throughout the school district. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate digital production printers, wide format equipment, booklet maker, folders, paper cutters, staplers, paper drills and other related print production equipment Monitor equipment operations, make adjustments and minor repairs, calibrate printers and perform preventative maintenance Maintain acceptable production speeds Perform proper machine set-up, start-up and shut down, including and verifying that equipment is ready for operation and that necessary supplies are available Identify and troubleshoot poor quality, job problems or failures and seek assistance if needed to correct, perform quality checks at various stages Assist in operation and clean up of Print Shop area Keep supply of paper stocks in order; count and move paper material in print production area; adhere to inventory controls for the ordering of paper and supplies Adhere to policies and guidelines pertaining to confidentiality, security, safety and professional conduct Maintain records, files and archives as needed Assist in the completion of all print shop orders as needed Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily. The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds, such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress. Additional Information Work requires sufficient strength, agility, dexterity, and hand-eye-foot coordination to perform all essential functions including operating related printing equipment, lifting and carrying paper, stock and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds, reaching in front of body and overhead, and standing at shop equipment for long periods of time. Work also required frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Responsibilities
The Print Production Technician operates and maintains various printing equipment to produce printed materials for the school district. They monitor equipment operations, perform quality checks, and assist in the completion of print shop orders.
