Description

Temporary position for 12 months.

As a purchasing and procurement technician, you help purchase or rent goods and services for the organization. You may be responsible for one or more sub-specialties, such as the sourcing and procurement of goods and services, asset management, contract and partnership management, inventory and restocking, outsourced service management, and governance. You serve as technical collaborator and provide discipline-specific support for your unit’s activities, initiatives and processes. The ability to tailor your approach as needed is therefore essential. You research and analyze processes, information management and data processing. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to solve technical problems and help develop and improve methods and procedures. You serve as resource person for practitioners and unit employees. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Provide technical support for projects and operational issues. Submit solutions and action plans and take corrective action as needed
  • Conduct technical studies, research and analysis. Analyze procurement and purchasing needs
  • Carry out activities. Follow up and verify as needed to meet quality standards and follow purchasing and procurement processes
  • Prepare documents; draft and produce technical notes and reports; and validate information and update files for day-to-day purchasing and procurement management
  • Help identify and propose opportunities for improvement
  • Help practitioners follow your unit’s processes and use its business solutions, tools and systems.
