Redwood Machine Works Is a contract manufacturer in Oakland, California that provides custom manufacturing solutions for our customers most complex needs. All aspects of production from engineering to fabrication to final assembly are performed in house. With no two jobs being the same, every day is a new challenge and an opportunity to learn.
We are currently seeking a full-time Machine Operator to join our team. This position will be responsible for the operation of fabrication machinery and organization of raw materials in our shop

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Technician generally performs tasks assigned by the Shop Supervisor producing products on the shop floor. A Technician is responsible for manufacturing finished components while achieving safety, quality, and delivery objectives. They achieve this by following written work instructions, operating equipment, machines, hand tools and effectively communicating with teammates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Read and write English fluently
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in manufacturing operating similar machinery
  • Self-motivated and very organized
  • CNC computer skills
  • Experience safely using forklifts
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Can use a step ladder and lift and carry 50lbs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally allowed to work in the U.S.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
  • Perform daily duties operating machinery and equipment such as: waterjets, forklifts, bandsaws, drill press, Industrial grinders, step ladders, and measuring tools, to produce projects correctly and on time.
  • Performs occasional duties of: wet painting and packaging of finished goods
  • Interpret and follow written work instructions and drawings with minimal supervision
  • Maintain an organized raw stock inventory.
  • Ensure machines and equipment are kept clean and in good working condition and perform maintenance as needed.
