ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an individual to support the effective delivery of the RHS Level 2 Practical Horticulture by assisting with lesson preparation, student supervision, plant specimen collection, and resource coordination. The technician will work closely with the Course Manager and glasshouse staff to ensure high-quality learning experiences and successful student outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare tools, materials, and plant specimens for practical sessions.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling practical lesson areas.
• Ensure all resources are available and in good condition prior to sessions.
• Support the supervision of students during practical lessons.
• Provide guidance on safe and effective horticultural practices.
• Assist with student queries and help maintain a productive learning environment.
• Collect and prepare plant specimens for practical assessments.
• Aid in the smooth running of assessment days, ensuring all materials and setups are ready.
• Maintain accurate records related to practical assessments.
• Glasshouse & Plant Stock Management
• Liaise with glasshouse staff to ensure timely preparation of plant materials and resources.
• Assist in the maintenance and care of departmental plant stocks.
• Monitor plant health and report any issues to relevant staff.
• Work closely with the Course Manager to coordinate lesson plans and resource needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and external suppliers as required.
• Contribute to team meetings and planning sessions.
  Candidates should be educated to at least RHS Level 2 or above in a relevant subject. With excellent knowledge of practical Horticulture,
