About the role * Maintain mining equipment tyres and rim assemblies. * Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. * Capable of working safe and promote a safe working environment. Key / Major Accountabilities * Assessment of tyre wear patterns. * Distinguish tyres wearing unevenly and recommend solutions. * Must have knowledge of tire pressure levels and methods to repair and patch damaged tires. * Recommend certain types of tyres based on vehicles and driving patterns also considering the geographical locations and weather conditions. * Locate punctures in tubeless tyres by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tyres in water baths and observing air bubbles. * Remove, fit and inspect wheel alignments. * Conduct NDT rim inspection * Able to remove and install earthmoving tyres with mechanical aids. * Repair tyre machines or systems using the needed tools. * Follow safety procedures and guidelines in place and strict observance of housekeeping. * Identify and report safety hazards. * Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy. * Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values. About You To be considered for this role, it is essential that you should have; * Grade 10 certificate * 3 years’ experience in Heavy Equipment Tyre repairs or Automotive Mechanic. * Sound communication skills * Self-starter, and very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems to ensure the equipment availability is high. * Flexible and adaptable and be a team player. * Able to work long hours. * Must have valid driving license (Class 3 or above) * Must be able to operate tyre handling machines LIFE AT K92 Our core values — Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety — are central to our operations and fundamental to our success.
