Job Description

Nous sommes présentement à la recherche d’un technicien en électronique pour notre client.

• effectuer les entretiens préventifs et correctifs conformément aux plans d’entretien approuvés ;
• étalonner régulièrement tout l’équipement d’essai conformément au plan d’étalonnage approuvé;
• restaurer les systèmes en remplaçant les éléments ou les modules défectueux et réparer les modules défectueux sur place lorsque possible;
• prendre les dispositions nécessaires pour réparer les modules du fournisseur ou à l’installation de réparation interne ou un sous-traité lorsqu’il n’est pas possible de le faire sur place;
• consigner toutes les activités d’entretien et de réparation dans le Système d’information sur l’entretien (SIE);
• consigner dans des dossiers toutes les activités d’entretien préventif et correctif, y compris les résultats des essais;
• rédiger des rapports et les présenter au superviseur régional;
• effectuer une vérification annuelle de l’inventaire des systèmes de sécurité électroniques, de leurs principaux éléments et principales pièces de rechange;
• inspecter et mettre à l’essai les articles provenant des installations de réparation pour vérifier leur bon fonctionnement et s’assurer qu’ils répondent à tous les critères de qualité pertinents;
• maintenir une zone de travail propre;
• se conformer à tous les codes et règlements de sécurité locaux conformément aux plans de sécurité de l’établissement;
• assurer le soutien téléphonique pour les autres techniciens de l’entrepreneur dans le cadre des volets de travail et entre ceux-ci, au besoin;
• devoir être disponible pour fournir des services sur appel après les heures normales de travail, selon l’horaire de disponibilité;
• se tenir au courant des systèmes nouvellement installés et effectuer des recherches proactives à leur sujet pour pouvoir entretenir l’équipement efficacement;
• suivre une formation en cours d’emploi (FCE) dans les douze mois à compter de la date de début de la ressource.

We are currently seeking an electronics technician for our client.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the approved maintenance plans;
• Calibrate all test equipment on a regular basis as per approved calibration plan;
• Restore systems by replacing faulty modules or components and repair faulty modules on-site when feasible;
• Make necessary arrangements to repair modules at the Supplier’s plant or at in-house repair facility or sub-contracted when repair is not possible on site;
• Record all maintenance and repair activities in the MIS (Maintenance Information System);
• Maintain records showing all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including test results;
• Prepare and submit reports to the Regional Supervisor;
• Perform annual inventory checks of electronic security systems, their major components and major spare parts;
• Inspect and test items returning from repair facilities to ensure proper operation and that they meet all relevant quality parameters;
• Maintain clean working area;
• Comply with all local safety and security codes and regulations as per safety plans at the institution;
• Provide telephone support to other Technicians within and between Workstreams, as required;
• Must be available for on-call services after regular hours as per the on-call schedule; and
• Proactively research, and stay up to date with, newly installed systems to be able to maintain the equipment effectively.
• Complete the On Job Training (OJT) within twelve months of Resource’s start date.

Qualifications

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of a college degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields:
• Industrial Technician
• Communication Technician
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology
• Electronic Engineering Technician
• Electrical Engineering Technology
• A minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 5 years maintaining at least 5 of the systems and/or sub-systems (must include Type of Electronic Equipment and System Maintained, Manufacturer, and Model) listed below:
• Security Systems such as:

• Motion Detection System (MDS)
• Fence Disturbance System (FDS)
• PIDS Public Address System (PIDS PA)

• Personal Portable Alarm - Locatable System (PPAL)
• Fixed Point Alarms (FPA)
• Drone Detections

• Communications Systems such as:
• Radio System
• Telephone System
• Public Address System (PA)

• Demonstrated experience working with commercial and personal computers and their peripherals.
• Experience demonstrating clear conceptual thinking of complex technical situations by being able to ignore extraneous information, have broad and critical thinking, break down a project into manageable pieces, make a decision, execute a solution, formulate an effective course of action, have logical thinking, be able to multitasking, and prioritization.
• Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
• This role requires any candidates to currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Federal Government clearance at the enhanced reliability (level 1).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• The incumbent must be able to communicate his/her ideas clearly, and this requires good interpersonal skills in order to problem solve and interact at the client site effectively.
• Decisions require clear conceptual thinking of complex technical situations; advice must be sought if uncertainty exists.
• CompTIA A+ and Network+ an asset. (Must complete within 6 months from start date)
• Working at heights (Fall Arrest), First Aid, Confined Space and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
• French essential, bilingualism an asset.
