AIRPORT SCREENING EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 1, 2, AND 3) - MONTREAL AIRPORT

As an Airport Screening Equipment Technician (Level 1, 2, and 3), you will be part of a team that provides service on Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) passenger screening equipment at the airport and its designated satellites. This includes, but is not limited to, the installation, repair and maintenance of passenger screening systems. The company will provide you with all the specific, classroom and practical training you will need to support you in your role. We are looking for candidates who have knowledge of technical skills in mechanics and electronics, networking and computer experience, and who pride themselves on producing high-quality results.

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Technical school diploma, military training in electronic engineering technology and/or related occupational certification
  • Experience in a field service environment and directly with X-ray technologies, screening and/or knowledge of complex mechanical systems (highly desirable)
  • Proactive, end-to-end (replace with such) customer service internally and externally
  • Good oral and written communication skills (fluency in English/French) is mandatory.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and operating system

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit, stand for extended periods of time, walk, climb, reach, bend and maneuver around equipment and work areas is required
  • Lift up to 50 lbs/23 kg
  • “Good hands”, i.e., mastery of hand and power tool
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems and equipment
  • Order, receive and return parts as needed
  • Complete documentation and reports in a timely and concise manner
  • Liaise with on-site staff and partners in a professional manner
  • Adhere to company health, safety and environmental policies

NON-NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT IN THIS ROLE:

  • Pass a Government of Canada security background check for a high-level security clearance
  • Be a permanent resident of Canada, or have lived in Canada for at least 5 years on a valid work visa.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to motorized transportation
  • Hold a valid passport or work visa for training in the United States
  • Ability to work irregular work schedules, including shift and on-call work.
  • Have the ability to travel to remote airports for emergency maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to work on special projects from time to time and travel on short notice as required.
