REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • College diploma (DEC) in administration, human resources, accounting or equivalent ;
  • University certificate in HR or industrial relations (an asset) ;
  • S.C.P. certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (an asset) ;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a similar position (payroll and HR) ;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset).

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Mastery of laws and regulations related to payroll and labor standards in Quebec ;
  • Excellent command of the MS Office suite ;
  • Knowledge of processes related to CNESST, employment insurance, group RRSPs, group insurance, etc.;
  • Knowledge of payroll software ;
  • Fluency in spoken and written French (excellent) ;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English (intermediate).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure complete weekly payroll processing for all 150 non-unionized employees, in compliance with tax laws and labor standards, including management of deductions, government rebates, special deductions, production of tax statements and monthly reconciliation with accounting ;
  • Ensure rigorous management of employee files in the following platforms: FOLKS (HR management system), SMAAT (health, safety and environment management system), Employeur D (Payroll and HR system) and EPICOR (ERP system) ;
  • Update HR dashboards and provide administrative support for processes such as annual appraisals and other HR processes ;
  • Track vacation, leave and benefits via HRIS and the payroll system, manage group insurance and group RRSP administration, create and close employee files in the various platforms, and draft various HR documents related to employment and the various programs in place ;
  • Accompany our foreign workers through all stages of their arrival and integration, helping them with administrative formalities (SIN, bank account, health insurance, etc.), finding accommodation and their basic needs upon arrival in Canada, in order to offer them a humane and well-organized welcome experience ;
  • Take charge of certain administrative tasks, such as answering the telephone, managing mailings, filing documentation, etc.;
  • Participate in the organization of social activities and contribute to various HR projects ;
  • Any other related tasks.
