Overview Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years) Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Specific course work: Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, OR in lieu of degree have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab Preferred Education: Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification. Necessary Skills: Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel. Good communication skills. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult). Be able to use hospital computer system. Knowledge of filing system. Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics. Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge. Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment. � Patient advocate skills. Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS from the American Heart Association Within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, Must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
