KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Biology, Biotechnology, or a similar scientific area is required (BSc or equivalent experience preferred, MSc advantageous).
  • Proven experience in cell culture techniques and aseptic operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work 7.5-hour days Monday to Friday, with additional weekend work approximately 1 in 5 weekends.
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in a cGMP clean room environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct cell culture using aseptic techniques to build and maintain cell banks, ensuring accuracy in batch records and log books.
  • Perform aseptic operations, including revival, subculture, and pooling, along with cell counting and environmental monitoring.
  • Manage routine laboratory maintenance tasks such as equipment checks, store management, and cleaning.
  • Prepare stock solutions and media, followed by aseptic filtration.
  • Coordinate inventory management of frozen vials in liquid nitrogen storage.
  • Draft development reports and prepare testing and release documentation.
  • Handle specific tasks like booking testing, arranging shipments, bank release, inventory management, facility/equipment management, and stock file creation and archiving.
  • Keep up-to-date with cGMP and safety training requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the team and ensure smooth operations.
