WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a driven, forward-thinking professional who brings both expertise and a passion for ironmaking. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related STEM field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in blast furnace operations or a similar technical process role.
  • Deep understanding of ironmaking processes and blast furnace technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • A solid commitment to maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and technical reporting tools.

You’ll play a key role in boosting the performance and efficiency of our blast furnace operations, applying your technical expertise to solve challenges, optimise processes and drive innovation. Safety, quality and continuous improvement will be your focus, all while working alongside a passionate team committed to keeping this proud tradition alive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Technologist in our blast furnace operations, you’ll play a crucial role in driving performance, innovation and sustainability. Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Championing a safety-first culture by ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Delivering expert technical support to optimise blast furnace operations and maintain world-class standards.
  • Analysing and fine-tuning furnace performance to maximise efficiency, output and reliability.
  • Tackling complex technical challenges through hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborating closely with operations and engineering teams to implement cutting-edge process improvements.
  • Interpreting production data to uncover trends, anticipate issues and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Contributing to the research, development and rollout of new technologies and process enhancements.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards (ISO:9001).
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and documentation.
