Description:

OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITY

The individual will be part of a dynamic and pioneering team driving ecosystem support to empower persons with disabilities and caregivers through integration of services and accessibility, improving built & digital environment and enabling adoption of tech solutions. He/she will contribute towards the capability building of persons with disabilities, caregivers, and sector professionals; and implement initiatives that enhances the independent living skills of persons with disabilities.
This position is part of the Innovation division, which manages the centre for assistive technology (AT), Tech Able, and reaches out to people and organisations interested in AT and accessibility, in addition to supporting persons with disabilities in independent living.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in any discipline (or relevant working experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience preferred (entry-level graduates are also welcomed to apply)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, programme development, stakeholder engagement, and/or change management
  • Functional knowledge of at least one innovation related approach/methodology (e.g. design thinking, user experience design, futures thinking, or equivalent), demonstrated through previous work experience, involvement in standalone projects, or completion of relevant courses
  • Good strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Possess good presentation and writing skills, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and convincingly
  • Good people skills to engage both internal and external stakeholders, and comfortable with facilitating discussions
  • Able to contribute as part of a team, while working independently on individual responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Good organisational skills to keep tasks on time under tight deadlines and resourceful in problem solving
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Strong and broad-based interest in technology, particularly in the use of technology for good
  • Courage to propose and test new ideas, and learn from successes and failures
  • Strong passion for creating positive social impact and disability inclusion is a must. Prior experience in the disability sector or familiarity with disability issues is an advantage

Responsibilities:

Project Management and Partnerships (AT, Accessibility and Independent Living Initiatives)

  • Support the engagement with and maintenance of relationships with various stakeholders such as service providers, technology and corporate partners, government agencies, funders, persons with disabilities, and caregivers.
  • Plan, execute, and manage projects to meet specific goals and deliverables in accordance with stipulated timelines.
  • Develop and manage strategies for effective communication, engagement and collaboration with different stakeholders.
  • Support the design and implementation of marketing and publicity plans for the projects where necessary.
