Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the transformative world of educational technology? Join the innovative Education Technology (EdTech) team at Queen’s University, where we empower faculty and enhance the learning experience for students and researchers alike.
As a Technology Architect, you will work alongside talented colleagues to design and implement cutting-edge educational solutions that leverage integrated systems, data analytics, and cloud technologies. You’ll play a crucial role in enabling secure integrations to the Learning Management System (LMS), developing data pipelines from the LMS (such as Brightspace, Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard) to our university’s central data warehouse, managing our software center for licensing solutions, and facilitating training sessions. In this position, you will strategize, design, and oversee the architecture of our educational applications while ensuring alignment with security protocols and compliance regulations. Strong communication skills and financial acumen are essential when assessing software licensing agreements and their implications.
This position researches, develops, and assists in the selection, development, and implementation of instructional innovations, advancements in subject matter education, and learning theory, and consults on the use of information technology and online resources. This position assists faculty with the transition from lectures to active instructional methods through one-on-one or course team meetings to diagnose challenges, formulate revision plans, and manage the implementation through direct or indirect coaching. This position provides training to instructors, staff, and teaching assistants on the use of educational technology tools. This position also designs and creates learning materials, including electronic modules, cases, quizzes, and other interactive classroom materials.
We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about educational technologies and eager to collaborate effectively across departments. Essential experience includes deep knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) and proficiency in API design and data integration related to LMS and software licensing tools. A solid understanding of database management and analytics for data-driven decision-making is crucial, alongside expertise in using cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) for hosting and data storage. Familiarity with analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI will also be beneficial.
