TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT - SENIOR:

On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for a Technology Architect - Senior for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT - SENIOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Technology Architect will focus on enhancing cyber security and privacy controls for Ontario K-12 school boards. This role involves conducting assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing action plans to improve cyber resilience. The architect will also provide guidance and support to strengthen digital environments and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT - SENIOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 10+ years’ experience with cyber security processes and regulations
  • 10+ years’ experience with cyber security and privacy audits and assessments
  • Experience applying industry frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, COBIT, and ISO 27001
  • Security certification (CISSP or CISM)
  • Excellent knowledge of Ontario, federal, and international privacy laws
  • Strong communication skills with 10+ years’ experience in presenting and preparing reports

TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECT - SENIOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience with public sector cyber security projects
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the K-12 education sector
  • Experience in developing and operationalizing cyber security controls
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and mitigation strategies
Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct comprehensive cyber security and privacy assessments across Ontario K–12 school boards
  • Develop improvement recommendations and tailored remediation plans
  • Provide hands-on expertise and guidance to enhance cyber protection capabilities
  • Support the development of cyber security controls, policies, and playbooks
  • Advise on findings and mitigation strategies following security incidents
  • Produce and maintain risk logs and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with ministry, school board, and third-party personnel
  • Deliver presentations and briefings to communicate findings and progress
  • Monitor and report on project deliverables
  • Stay current with evolving cyber threats and privacy regulations
  • Manage and deliver multiple concurrent cyber security engagements
