Technology Business Partner, Japan Job Description Summary The Technology Business Partner (TBP) for Japan acts as a trusted advisor to the Japan business leadership, serving as the primary interface between Aon Japan and the wider APAC and Global Technology organisation. This role is accountable for aligning technology strategy, services, and delivery to local business priorities, with a strong focus on business growth, M&A integration, regulatory compliance, and service resilience. The TBP ensures that global platforms are adopted effectively while representing Japan‑specific requirements into regional and global technology forums. Job Description Business & Technology Alignment Develop and maintain strong relationships with Japan business leaders, regional technology leads, and global product owners. Act as the single point of accountability for technology engagement with Japan leadership. Translate business strategy, growth plans, and regulatory requirements into clear technology priorities. Represent Japan requirements in APAC and global technology governance forums. Demand Shaping & Business Case Development Qualify and shape business demand to ensure alignment with global platforms and architecture standards. Partner with business stakeholders to develop robust business cases for technology initiatives. Engage early with regional and global teams to ensure solutions are viable, compliant, and scalable. Delivery & Portfolio Oversight Own the Japan technology portfolio within the APAC delivery framework. Work with VRO and delivery leads to ensure: - Appropriate governance - Clear ownership - Risks and dependencies are actively managed Provide regular, structured status updates to APAC & Japan leadership on delivery progress. Enablement M&A and PMI Lead and coordinate technology integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and business integrations in Japan. Ensure early technology due diligence, integration planning, and execution readiness. Act as the technology point of contact for Japan M&A stakeholders. Service Management & Operational Resilience Serve as the point of escalation for major IT service issues impacting Japan. Review service performance metrics and trends with service delivery teams. Drive improvements to service quality, communication, and incident management. Ensure continuity planning and resilience for critical Japan operations. Compliance, Security & Risk Promote Aon Secure and ensure compliance with local Japan regulatory, data privacy, and security requirements. Partner with Global Cyber Security Services (GCS) to proactively manage technology‑related risks. Ensure local regulatory needs are addressed without unnecessary deviation from global standards. Adoption & Change Management Drive adoption of global and regional platforms across Japan. Support change management activities to ensure colleagues understand and realize Experience & Capabilities Required Strong experience partnering with senior business leaders in a regulated environment. Proven ability to translate business strategy into technology outcomes. Experience managing complex stakeholder environments across local, regional, and global teams. Solid understanding of IT service management and delivery governance. Experience supporting or leading M&A / PMI technology activities. Preferred Experience working in or with Japan‑based MNC organisations. Familiarity with insurance, financial services, or professional services environments.
