Job Description • Leads LET Tunnelling & Mining • Conduct laboratory testing (often with limited supervision) mainly according to established methods but sometimes also to meet specific requirements. • Capture and interpret test results in a technical report to provide recommendations on product suitability for project-specific applications. • Assist in the preparation of work instructions for customers to ensure products are used properly. • Assist product manager in reviewing technical literature. • Assist Market Field Managers / Product Managers in any field test trials as required. This will involve interstate travel, as required. • Ensure the laboratory is well-maintained to enhance testing efficiency, including responsibility for equipment maintenance, test sample storage and sample product inventory. • Support cross-functional projects that results in cost savings, quality improvement and process efficiencies. • Facilitate workshops and cross-functional team sessions to uncover improvement opportunities. • To work with OH&S and Product Steward to ensure necessary regulatory approvals are in place on raw materials used and products supplied. • Carry out on occasions other duties as directed by the Management / Departmental Head. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field Knowledgeable of Lean and Six Sigma Tools and methodologies Previous experience in laboratory and manufacturing environments Proficient in MS Office and analytical problem-solving skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Commitment to safety and quality standards Additional Information As a market leader, Sika Australia understands and recognizes the contribution employees make to the success of our business.
