JOB DESCRIPTION: TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR

Reports To: Technology Team Lead
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Takes Direction From: Executive Team, Strategic Leadership Team
Calendar: Administrative Calendar

JOB SUMMARY

The Technology Coordinator supports the implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day function of the organization’s technology systems, devices, and educational technology tools. Working under the direction of the Technology Team Lead, this role assists with device issuance and upkeep, system security, user support, and the integration of technology into the learning environment. The Technology Coordinator is hands-on in troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining accurate technology inventories, and ensuring that staff, students, and families are equipped to use organizational technology effectively and securely. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach, with the flexibility to work on-site across multiple locations and virtually as needed.

CERTIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances
  • Experience in school technology
  • Ability to work independently in person or virtually as needed

The individual in this position shall be assigned a variety of resources and materials which are to be appropriately stored and accounted for. All media resources and borrowed material are to be judiciously used, and are to be maintained in a reasonably unsoiled and non- damaged fashion. Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Administrative

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures for user data, system configurations, and instructional resources.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring backup and recovery procedures for user data, system configurations, and instructional resources.
  • Assist in the maintenance of inventories of all technology-related assets, to include asset tagging
  • Assist the Technology Team Lead in monitoring network and system security, including identifying and reporting threats, running security updates, and supporting incident response procedures.
  • Assist with mobile device management (MDM) tasks, including enrolling new devices, pushing updates, and managing devices remotely.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of technology for events, including assemblies, presentations, training sessions, and community activities.
  • Assist with the training of families, students, faculty, and staff in the proper use of technology, devices, and systems
  • Assist with user account creation, management, and deactivation for organizational systems, including Google Workspace, learning management systems, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with departmental units to ensure efficient operation of desktop and mobile computing environment. Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation and network software products.
  • Coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs, replacement parts, or specialized technical support as directed by the Technology Team Lead.
  • Create and maintain technical process documentation, quick-reference guides, and training materials for common technology needs.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain specialized instructional software, ensuring licensing compliance and compatibility with organizational systems.
  • Follow established protocols for handling sensitive data and support compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, telephonic devices and other products in order to deliver required desktop service levels. Assist with servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more. Ensure that desktop connections, ie. network jacks are in proper working order
  • Keep systems and hardware including printing and copier machines, up-to-date through operating systems and security upgrades and troubleshoot as necessary for daily operations
  • Label, test, and replace network cabling and connections as needed to maintain reliable connectivity.
  • Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and preventative measures within the organization’s ticketing or help desk system.
  • Monitor WIFI, Hotspot, web performance, network availability, and security. Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software
  • Perform on-site and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on technology equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
  • Provide hands-on support for integrating educational technology into classroom instruction, including on-the-spot troubleshooting and user training.
  • Provide technical support to diverse stakeholders such as parents, staff, and students via a variety of methods, such as by phone, remote access, video communication platforms, and/or site visits as needed
  • Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain classroom audiovisual and instructional technology, including interactive panels, projectors, sound systems, assistive technology, and other educational software or hardware.
  • Support end-of-life processing for technology assets, including secure data wiping, environmentally responsible disposal, or refurbishment.
  • Support inventory audits by reconciling asset management records with physical equipment and reporting discrepancies to the Technology Team Lead.
  • Support the organization’s educational technology program directly and indirectly
  • Test and evaluate new hardware, software, and instructional technology tools for potential classroom and administrative use.
  • Travel to multiple school locations to provide on-site technology support and respond to urgent needs.
  • Use the company’s systems to manage, image, and deploy devices
  • Using the organization’s systems, maintain correct and up-to-date information about logins, serial numbers, model numbers, purchase dates and costs, and any other necessary information related to information technology
