REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Project or Delivery Manager within a technical environment
  • Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure and connectivity initiatives, including data centres and WAN/LAN projects
  • Desirable certifications include: PMBOK, PRINCE2, APM, AgilePM, SAFe Agilist
  • Proven experience working with and managing third-party technology vendors
  • Comfortable navigating matrix organisations and working across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., data privacy, infosec, legal/regulatory)Strong communication and influencing skills, able to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences

ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Technology Delivery Manager to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.
Our client is one of the UK’s largest and most established retailers, currently undergoing a major technology transformation. As a Technology Delivery Manager in the Connectivity team, you’ll lead the delivery of Data Centre connectivity services, supporting new product rollouts and infrastructure changes. You will engage closely with third-party vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional tech teams to ensure high performance, service reliability, and timely project delivery. The role blends strong project, risk, and stakeholder management with technical fluency and commercial awareness

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the delivery of complex connectivity initiatives across data centre and enterprise environments
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, security, and data teams to align on delivery outcomes
  • Manage third-party suppliers to resolve incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish and manage agile and waterfall delivery frameworks, depending on project needs
  • Own and maintain delivery plans, rollout schedules, and RAID logs
  • Influence decision-making across tech leadership and facilitate resolution of cross-team dependencies
  • Support commercial planning and RFP/tender processes in partnership with procurement
  • Report regularly on progress, risks, and key milestones to stakeholders and governance forums
  • Coach and support junior delivery managers within the team
  • Contribute actively to the Delivery Community of Practice
