Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Aspen Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Technology Lead to support our Corport functions. This role offers the opportunity to oversee technical aspects of projects within the Exposure Management, Finance, Real Estate and HR application portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions tailored to these domains. This is an exciting opportunity to provide technical guidance and mentorship, drive innovation and continuous improvement, and take ownership in delivering application solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Technology Lead at Aspen Insurance, you will be responsible for maintaining our core corporate systems and developing new custom Azure solutions as needed. You will have the opportunity to grow an immature capability while demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Your ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment will be crucial in this role. You will also be expected to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines and plan effectively.

  • Oversee the technical aspects of projects within the Exposure Management, Finance, Real Estate and HR application portfolio.
  • Manage teams/squads and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of software solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership in delivering application solutions and provide technical delivery leadership.
  • Fully leverage technology suppliers and maintain a stable platform estate of insurance applications.
  • Meet compliance obligations and ensure optimal use of application budgets.

As the ideal candidate for the Technology Lead position at Aspen Insurance, you bring a wealth of experience in programming languages such as SQL, Java, .NET or Python. Your strong leadership skills coupled with your ability to engage and lead a squad make you stand out. Your understanding of the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs will be key in this role. With over 5 years of experience in Azure and technical leadership roles within the P&C insurance industry, you are ready to take on this challenging role.

  • Minimum 3 Years experience supporting Exposure Management
  • 10+ years of experience in programming languages such as SQL, Java, .NET, or Python.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles, preferably within the P&C insurance industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in Azure or comparable cloud technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • People management – ability to engage and lead a squad.
  • Able to work independently
