Technology Lead, CoE Manufacturing Processes

The Technology Lead (m/f/d) in the Center of Expertise (CoE) Manufacturing processes is part of the Global MTS (Manufacturing Technology and Sciences) in Global Technical Operations. In this role you will work in an international team of highly skilled professionals guiding, supporting, improving global internal and external aseptic/sterile manufacturing activities in Technical Operations. It is a permanent full-time position. The preferred base for this role is Germany (Kiel).
Ferring has its own subsidiaries in nearly 60 countries and markets its products in 110 countries. In Kiel at the German manufacturing subsidiary- FERRING GmbH- we produce essential products for the pharmaceutical market in the fields of reproductive medicine, endocrinology, urology, pediatrics, and gastroenterology. We manufacture primarily sterile dosage forms with a focus on peptide hormones, utilizing state-of-the-art production facilities. At our Kiel location, we employ around 600 employees. Your contribution to make a difference.
- Assess and contribute to the strategic direction and short-/mid-/long-range plans for aseptic/sterile manufacturing technologies.
- Advise on scientific, best practices and business developments (including technology, processes, regulations, etc).
- Act as a recognized subject matter expert and technology lead for aseptic/sterile manufacturing technologies.
- Build and lead a technical network of subject matter experts across the aseptic/sterile manufacturing organization in Technical Operations.
- Drive and/or support troubleshooting of complex investigations and crisis teams.
- Initiate, lead or participate in projects such as manufacturing/robustness improvement projects and risk mitigation/compliance projects.
- Support Technology Transfer projects with aseptic/sterile technical expertise.
- Support the introduction and implementation of existing and new technologies into the manufacturing organization.
- Advocate and establish key guiding manufacturing principles.
- Author, maintain relevant corporate SOPs, guidelines and tools.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of key operational and strategic plans for the Center of Expertise.
- Build productive and professional relationships outside Ferring to maintain a “state of the art” knowledge and to introduce best in class practices and trends.
- Create, maintain, expand and continuously update scientific knowledge on the aseptic/sterile technologies.
Your qualifications that enrich us.
- Required Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology or Biotech Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, of which at least 3 years in a supporting function role within one or more of the following areas: Biologicals/biotechnology, Aseptic manufacturing technologies, Pharmaceutical production, Technical or production support, Quality Assurance
- Excellent knowledge and extended shopfloor experience of aseptic/sterile manufacturing activities including troubleshooting and critical deviations investigations.
- Excellent technical/scientific skills and knowledge of the aseptic/sterile manufacturing processes.
- Excellent working knowledge of cGMP, manufacturing sites and the pharmaceutical regulatory framework.
- Experience from a similar global function in an international company.
- Project and change management experience.
- Good knowledge of QbD principles, including Process Validation and Continued Process Verification.
- Excellent command of English and preferably another European language (German)
- Willingness to travel (30 %)
