The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Technology Manager to provide a critical role within the Tobacco Regulation Project (TRP).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualification or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Formal project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile methodologies) is highly desirable.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services and Operations, the Technology Manager will oversee critical functions including:

  • Leading the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the regulator’s case management systems and supporting digital platforms.
  • Developing and executing a multi-year technology roadmap, aligning innovative solutions with organisational objectives while ensuring effective stakeholder engagement through change adoption.

The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires sound judgement and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, using influence and negotiation skills to support the provision of clear advice to deliver effective, timely actions.
Core to being successful in this role will be your capacity to understand new subject matter quickly, demonstrate appropriate initiative, and an ability to write accurate, timely and audience-appropriate documents and briefings.

As the Technology Manager some of your duties will include:

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of the regulator’s case management systems including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, deployment and post-launch support.
  • Engage with internal business units to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing system performance, gathering stakeholder feedback and prioritising enhancements.
  • Identify emerging technologies and recommend innovations to enhance case management and digital service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in leading the end-to-end implementation of enterprise systems, specifically Salesforce-based solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent project management skills and proven ability to lead change management initiatives
