Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage the end-to-end program and deliver in line with the scope, cost, benefit and timeline expectations, using solid project/program management methodologies and tools.
  • Identify and manage program issues, resolving or escalating as required to ensure successful execution (issues could include conflicting priorities, insufficient resources, dependencies, release schedules and expectations).
  • Identify and manage program risks (including both risks to delivery of program outcomes and to the business) and where necessary, mitigate or deploy contingencies to ensure successful delivery of programs.
  • Negotiate outcomes-based vendor agreements to support project delivery with clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage external vendors engaged to support delivery and ensure that agreed scope is delivered to agreed timelines and cost.
  • Manage reporting requirements for the program from regular status reporting to executive level reporting requirements (including running Steering Committees).
  • Identify and manage key stakeholders and pro-actively secure their support and endorsement by defining roles and responsibilities, establishing appropriate program governance forums, conducting presentations/workshops and attending stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure clear communication between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage program impacts (including to both business teams and members) and ensure appropriate actions are taken to manage the impacts, minimising disruption and embedding new ways of working.
  • Develop documentation and reporting including program plans, dependency mapping, risk and issue registers, cost benefit analysis, IT system analysis, business needs analysis, process and procedure guidelines and post implementation review documentation.
  • Ensure that all streams within the program contribute to Avant’s overall vision and support the achievement of business and strategic objectives.
  • Manage, and where required reallocate, resources across different projects within a program to best support delivery.
  • Continuously improve program delivery processes through driving the adoption of best practice program management methodologies and tools.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of the insurance or financial sector (preferred).
  • Demonstrated program planning, management and delivery experience in technology change programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps delivery processes.
  • Previous experience in managing program teams with multi-skilled resources.
  • Experience presenting to executive stakeholders in formal governance forums e.g. Steering Committees.
  • Experience in supporting a SaaS technical delivery project through the entire delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience managing a Dynamics 365 implementation project would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience delivery of a technical delivery project with multiple system integrations.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of a projects that involve data migration.
  • Demonstrated experience in embedding new processes and procedures.
  • Experience with project management tools (Excel, Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, MS Project, PowerPoint, preferred but not essential).

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Permanent, full-time role based in either Sydney or Melbourne
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Governance, you will be responsible for the delivery of individual projects within the EPMO projects portfolio. This role is key to the effective delivery of EPMO initiatives and will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technology projects.
You will be responsible for end-to-end project management including planning and delivering projects in line with expected outcomes to create value for Avant. Utilising project management methodologies and tools, you will mitigate risks, manage dependencies and engage key stakeholders throughout the project to ensure successful delivery.
