We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from experienced Defence Network Engineering professionals for permanent opportunities in Canberra. You will provide a Network Engineering activities supporting classified Defence and Government systems. Your duties and experience may include but not be limited to; Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN). Deploy and configure network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers. Support network upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities. Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure agreed service levels are met. Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner. Perform routine maintenance, patching, and configuration changes. Implement network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation. Ensure networks comply with organisational security policies, standards, and frameworks. Support cyber security initiatives including vulnerability remediation and incident response. Maintain awareness of emerging threats and apply mitigation strategies. Collaborate with system administrators, cyber security teams, and application owners. Provide technical advice to project teams and business stakeholders. Support vendors and third-party providers during installations and fault resolution. About you: Network Engineering experience in classified Defence or Government environments. Australian citizen with a current or inactive AGSVA clearance (Min NV1 preferred). Relevant qualifications and industry certifications such as CISCO, Fortigate. Strong understanding of the integration and security challenges of OT and ICT networks. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in diverse environments. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with both military and civilian stakeholders. An ability to work either individually or as part of a broader team.
