About the Role: As a Technology Specialist – WINTEL Engineer in C4i Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in providing a range of Windows (Wintel) Engineering solutions and service advisory activities responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Windows-based systems supporting our clients in Defence and Government, either on client site or back of office. The role is located onsite in Sydney, CBD. About the role: Server Administration; Installing, configuring, upgrading, managing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers and workstations. Oversee the management of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, MS Exchange and DHCP. Lead and execute complex migration projects, transitioning workloads and virtual machines (VMs) from VMware to Microsoft Hyper-V environments. Troubleshoot complex issues related to virtualized environments and provide advanced troubleshooting solutions. Managing virtual machines, primarily using VMware vSphere and vCenter. Ensure server architecture system security through regular updates and monitoring. Perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting. Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions. Provide technical support and guidance for our clients and staff. Provide specified support to proprietary classified Defence software that are part of Protected, Secret, and Coalition environments. Provide IT Helpdesk support (up to L2 for most cases) including encryption devices, and IP security. About you: Australian citizen (required for Defence projects) with a min AGSVA NV1 clearance. The ability to obtain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance is preferred. Experience working in a Defence project setting, preferably in either complex ICT, Engineering or Technology integration environments. Relevant Microsoft Certifications; Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Expert (MCSE), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP)VMware or equivalent. Proven experience supporting Deployable Information Environments (DIE) or deployed ICT systems. Strong experience with Windows Server. Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP. Experience with VMware virtual environments. Solid understanding of IT security principles, particularly within Defence or secure ICT environments (Familiar with ISM, DSPF, PSPF). Hands-on experience with system troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning. Ability to work in high-pressure, secure ICT environments Minimum 3–5 years experience in Wintel/ICT Engineering.
