Description The Technology Support Specialist will provide technical support and assistance with operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals. This includes assisting users with proper use of software systems such as Microsoft Office and internal systems as well as the diagnosis and resolution of operability issues and general computer maintenance – software installation, OS updates. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical support to employees who experience technical difficulties by defining, analyzing, and correcting the issues Assist IT Management in day-to-day operations of the IT department Assist IT Management in maintaining inventory database of IT equipment In conjunction with management, provide training to new hires and existing employees as needed to ensure the proper use of the organization’s systems Participate in educational opportunities to further enhance job knowledge Maintains regular and prompt attendance at work Displays professional and respectful behavior to all persons in the workplace Follows organizational policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Education/Qualifications/Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of ongoing education, certification, experience, and training Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff Ability to work independently with only minimal oversight Demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting/diagnosis of computer desktop and networking issues Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Apple OS X Working knowledge of advanced topics relating to Microsoft Office 1-3 years’ experience supporting Microsoft/Apple users in a corporate/network environment Constantly operates a computer (both stationary and mobile) Must be able to remain stationary for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer Frequently moves computer equipment and other boxes; must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to access storage areas containing copy/print or other IT equipment Frequently moves about office areas throughout the day to provide on-site technical support.
