Description Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and hands-on Technology Support Specialist to support both instructional innovation and day-to-day technology operations in a school environment. This hybrid role combines creative project support with comprehensive IT services. The position works closely with faculty, students, and administrators, in partnership with the IT Manager, to enhance learning through technology and maintain a reliable, well-functioning technology ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Makerspace & Instructional Support (40%) Collaborate with makerspace faculty to develop innovative, project-based learning experiences Partner with teachers to design projects, advising on appropriate machines, materials, and processes Create templates, prototypes, and sample models so teachers and students understand expected outcomes and can bring the classroom projects to life Provide hands-on student support, helping students troubleshoot designs and correctly use tools and materials Assist individuals, small groups, or full classes during project work as needed Ensure safe and effective use of makerspace tools and equipment Support school-wide initiatives such as graduation projects in collaboration with students and committees Maintain and troubleshoot makerspace equipment including laser cutter, 3D Printer, sublimation printer, et al. Technology Support & IT Operations (60%) Device & User Support Manage and support student iPads and Chromebooks including setup and deployment using JAMF MDM and Google Workspace Support faculty and staff MacBook Air’s and software, including onboarding, configuration, updates, training and troubleshooting Administer user accounts, permissions, and access across platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Webex,, Veracross) Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, calibration, replacing consumables, and printer jams Ensure all classroom technology is operational (interactive displays, projectors, Apple TVs, printers); Maintain AV systems across shared spaces (gym, lunchroom, event spaces) Help Desk & Technical Support Respond to tech support requests promptly Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across all departments Escalate complex issues to IT Manager as needed Provide real-time support during school events, performances, and presentations, some of which may be outside of regular school hours. Infrastructure & Systems Support Assist IT Manager with: Network connectivity (wired/wireless) Content filtering policies Camera systems and guest management platforms Phone systems (Webex) Perform device setup leveraging JAMF MDM and Google Workspace, deployment,, and repairs (including warranty claims) Operational & Administrative Duties Contribute to annual IT budgeting and planning Maintain documentation, procedures, and internal knowledge base resources Train faculty and staff on technology tools and best practices Manage livestream setup, operation, and breakdown for school events Maintain livestream schedules and equipment inventory Benefits include medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability, accident and other insurance, vacation/sick/personal time, 403(b) retirement plan, leave early for Shabbat, and belonging to an amazing community.
