Description
Description The Worcester Art Museum is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Technology Support Specialist to join our Information Systems team. This full-time, entry-level position plays a vital role in supporting staff across the museum by providing timely and courteous technical assistance. More than just technical know-how, we’re looking for someone who brings a strong customer service mindset and a genuine interest in building relationships across departments. As the first point of contact for staff experiencing technical issues, you’ll provide support for Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and basic networking concepts. You’ll respond to help desk tickets via phone, email, and in person, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and maintain IT inventory. You will be reviewing and prioritizing tickets, coordinating with staff to schedule support, and using downtime to expand your technical knowledge or contribute to museum-wide initiatives. Success in this role depends on your ability to listen actively, communicate clearly, and approach every interaction with patience and professionalism. We value candidates with backgrounds in customer service—especially in retail, call centers, or tech support—who understand how to de-escalate situations and foster positive experiences. Technical skills can be learned; what matters most is your commitment to supporting others and your ability to engage with a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. This position reports to the Manager of Information Systems and works Monday through Friday, with a preferred schedule of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM to ensure coverage across the museum’s operating hours. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, curious, and eager to be part of the museum community. If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, connecting with colleagues, and contributing to a mission-driven organization, we encourage you to apply.
