QUALIFICATIONS/QUALITIES

  • Strong communication and educational background
  • Experience in engaging with youth communities, particularly in promoting mental and physical well-being
  • Ability to develop effective youth programs
  • Confident and experienced in communicating with teenage girls
  • A bubbly, approachable personality with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Lived experience with challenges that teenage girls currently face, providing a relatable and empathetic approach to mentoring
  • Preferable health and fitness background and/or passion
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Data collection and reporting experience for program impact tracking
  • Mentoring or counselling experience, especially in 1-on-1 settings
  • Some familiarity with funding applications or reporting (desirable)
  • Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle for travel to schools and community sites
  • Possible Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field

Responsibilities

The Teen Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and delivering youth programs, with a focus on promoting both mental and physical well-being. This role involves developing youth engagement strategies, fostering youth development, and managing on-site responsibilities across schools and community settings.
The Coordinator will also play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with schools, collecting data for impact reports, and providing personalised 1-on-1 mentoring to teenage girls participating in The Teen Project. In addition, the role will support ongoing funding efforts by contributing to funding applications and reporting, and will assist in the planning and delivery of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) events aimed at professionals and partners involved in youth well-being.
