Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation’s third largest arts center. Comprised of three Art Partners—Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art—there’s a role for everyone at The Woodruff. Reports to: Manager, Family and Group Experiences FLSA: United States of America (Non-Exempt) Employment Status: Temporary/Part time Part-time temporary, hourly, $10.00 per hour Summary: The High Museum of Art's Teen Leadership Council is a group of 15 high school students who share common interests in art and community engagement. Teen Leadership Council members engage with art and culture; develop workplace and team building skills; and learn about a range of professional options and career paths. The Teen Leadership Council gets behind-the-scenes access to the Museum, assists with public programming, plans for bi-annual Teen Takeovers, and learns about the Museum's exhibitions and collections. Teen Leadership Council is an intensive leadership development program and requires a year-long commitment from all members. During the summer intensive, Teen Leadership Council members work on multiple projects while learning about the museum’s collections, careers, and programs. Throughout the school year, Teen Leadership Council members continue to assist in developing and implementing programming for audiences of all ages. While a part of the Teen Leadership Council, members meet with High Museum staff, arts professionals, and other teens. Projects for the 2026-2027 Teen Team include: Creating participatory art projects for UPS Second Sunday family days and Oasis, inspired by the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions, in collaboration with Learning and Civic Engagement staff. Developing and facilitating two Teen Takeovers during Family Saturdays, focused on special exhibitions. Assisting with Learning and Civic Engagement programs including Summer Camp, Toddler Thursdays, smARTbox, and more. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Learn about the High Museum and its collection. Learn how to develop and implement tours of art on view in the museum. Serve as an ambassador for the Museum to the community through understanding and embodying the High’s mission and goals, demonstrating professionalism and responsibility when representing the Museum, and engaging with visitors during programming at the Museum. Gain professional experience, build leadership and project management skills, plan and implement activations and programs. for youth, families, and the community. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Summer: six-week summer intensive, Wednesday through Friday, 9:30am - 3:30pm, June 3 - July 17, 2026 (off the week of July 1 - 4) Second Sundays: the second Sunday of each month, July 2026 - May 2027, 11:00am - 5:00pm Oasis: the third Saturday of each month, July 2026 - May 2027, 9:00am - 3:00pm Teen Takeover: Tentatively October 3, 2026, and May 1, 2027 Other meetings and programs as announced Qualifications: Rising high school junior or senior enrolled full-time in school Takes initiative, self-starter Leader, either traditional or unconventional Passionate about arts, culture, and/or museum careers Has a network of peers and knowledge/understanding of teen culture Professional and responsible Problem-solver Works well with others The Woodruff Arts Center is one of the largest arts centers in the world, home to the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre, the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and the High Museum of Art, the leading art museum in the Southeast.
