Description
Position Type: Part-Time, 20 hours/week Schedule: Monday–Friday Compensation: $24–$29 per hour, depending on experience and technical skills. ABOUT THE CLUB For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has been dedicated to providing safe spaces for Bellevue’s youth outside of school hours. We focus on serving neighborhoods with the greatest need, ensuring equitable access to life-enhancing programs centered on academics, health, and leadership. Our mission is to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. BGCB is a dynamic organization that continuously adapts to meet the evolving needs of youth and the community. We are seeking a flexible, youth-centered individual to lead an innovative program: the Teen Tech Center. The Tech Center offers young people (ages 10 to 18) the opportunity to work on projects meaningful to their lives using computers and technology. The program provides support and resources for young people to pursue their interests and build upon their talents. At the Teen Tech Center, youth can design their own music, art, newsletters, robots, science simulations, computer games, and animation. We are looking for someone who can teach teens and bring these programs and projects to life. POSITION OVERVIEW Are you passionate about technology, creativity, and empowering young people to discover what they’re capable of? Do you love the idea of helping teens design music, build robots, create digital art, and explore the world through innovation? If so, you might be the perfect fit for the Teen Tech Center Coordinator role. We’re looking for an energetic, tech-curious, youth-centered leader to run our Teen Tech Center. In this role, you’ll guide teens as they explore new tools, develop creative projects, and pursue ideas that matter to them. Every day brings something different — music, animation, newsletters, games, science simulations, robotics projects, and more. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Support teens as they explore technology and develop creative projects — from brainstorming ideas to helping them bring their visions to life. * Build strong, positive relationships with youth, especially those from underserved communities. * Create a welcoming, inclusive, youth-driven environment where teens feel safe, supported, and inspired. * Oversee daily operations of the Teen Tech Center to ensure a clean, organized, and engaging space. * Provide basic computer maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment support. * Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and program data. * Manage supplies, equipment, and project materials. * Connect teens with mentors, volunteers, and resources that support their interests and future goals. * Collaborate with other Club programs and share your tech expertise when needed. These responsibilities do not fully encapsulate the scope of the role. You may be asked to perform tasks not listed here and to provide coverage at other sites occasionally to maintain staff-to-youth ratios. QUALIFICATIONS * Experience working with youth and a genuine passion for helping them grow. * Comfort with computers and an interest in technology as a creative, empowering tool. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make people from all backgrounds feel welcome and included. * Excellent organizational habits and attention to detail. * A natural curiosity and love of learning — someone who enjoys figuring things out alongside young people. * Ability to engage youth, families, educators, and community partners with confidence and warmth. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a National Background Check. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Six months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development setting. * Familiarity with digital arts, music production, robotics, or other creative technologies. DISCLAIMER This job description provides an overview of the expected responsibilities and qualifications for this role. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees may be assigned additional tasks based on the evolving needs of the organization.
