We are currently seeking skilled and motivated Telecommunication Technicians to join our team in Bay of Plenty region. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ensuring reliable communication networks for our clients. The position requires travel to various sites within the Bay of Plenty region, with all travel and fuel expenses covered by the employer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 12 months of relevant work experience or Minimum L-4 relevant qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Physically install Fibre optic, Category 6e Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
  • Installing and Designing Network for UFB( Ultra-Fast Broadband)
  • Determining Software and Hardware requirements to provide solutions for problems
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and replacing peripheral equipment such as terminals and modems
  • Installing and downloading appropriate software and adapting existing programs to meet clients requirements
  • Configuring and integrating network and telecommunications technology with computer software, hardware, peripherals and operating systems.
  • Planning the development of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure.
  • Programming, configuring and installing RGW and ONTs
  • Fibre cabling ,Fusion splicing at FAT and other termination point, Fibre blowing, termination to patch panels and home Optical network terminal in commercial and domestic properties (FTH project)
  • Able to work in Cabinet and Exchange
  • Testing of ONT, RGW and FTP for Ultra-Fibre Broadband.
  • Designing and Installing CAT6 networking and connections to modem, router to provide residential customers access to ultrafast broadband internet.
  • Researching, analyzing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance
  • Assessing and recommending improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, communications and operating systems
  • Providing specialist skills in supporting and troubleshooting network problems and emergencies
  • Terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connecters and coaxial connectors in existing or new network system.
  • Design, install and configure telephone systems for communication infrastructure.
  • Installing and troubleshooting of peripherals like routers, modems, switches and UPS
  • Managing security services in networks for client such as in Wireless routers, HUBS, Switches.
  • Provide technical advice to customer or client and also monitors the performance of network.
  • Cable or Equipment fault finding and troubleshooting using specialist equipment, Light sources and power meters.
  • Quality assurance tests as per vendor’s requirements followed by adjustment, replacement or repair of network equipment.
  • Multi Dwelling buildings cabling and networking.
  • Perform integrity tests on data network installations with help of LAN test equipment’s.
  • Troubleshooting problems that will require cable repair, cable maintenance, air pressure, splicing, faultfinding, etc.
  • Preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation for network inventory, and recording diagnosis and resolution of network faults, enhancements and modifications to networks, and maintenance instructions
  • Monitoring network traffic, and activity, capacity and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance
  • Performing administrative tasks including but not limited to, documenting test results and as built, completing safety reports and customer consent form etc.
  • Participating in weekly meetings and co-ordinate with various departments on upcoming jobs in industry
  • Attending various training programs and prepare schedule to provide training to information services telecommunication team.
  • Attending training and safety meetings, working safely at all times utilizing the necessary PPE, Demonstrate safe working practices to other technicians
  • Maintaining Customer and work quality standards
    The candidate will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week with an hourly wage ranging from $30 to $34.
