The Telecommunications Associate Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing emergency communication systems within the context of 911 services. This professional will ensure that critical communication channels remain operations, reliable, and responsive during emergencies.
The role involves working in the voice telecommunications domain, which includes telephone, radio, microwave, fiber optic, and cellular services. Responsibilities encompass analytical, planning, operations, technical, and administrative duties related to voice telecommunications or closely-related electronics planning, management, and service environments. The position may involve consultative or supervisory work.
The candidate will utilize experience in telecom, logging and recording to benefit the NYPD 911 operations by enhancing operations and provide recommendations. The candidate will participate in NextGen 911 Program serving as an NYPD subject matter. They will review, design and implement plans and provide recommendations to senior management and participate in multi-agency public safety change control meetings. They will review changes to the 911 environment to ensure minimum impact to 911 Operations.
