We are looking for a motivated and detailed-oriented Fibre Splicer to join our expanding team!

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

· Minimum 2 years of OSP fibre splicing experience
· Class 5 License and own transportation with a clean driver’s abstract
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs
· Comfortable working in heights using ladders, spurs, and bucket vans (up to 40ft)
· Comfortable working inside confined spaces such as telecom manholes and service vaults
· Comfortable working alone and independently for days and weeks at a time
· Current Confined Space Entry, First Aid, and/or Fall Protection Certification is an asset

Responsibilities

· Build fibre optic splice closures (FOSCs), prep, and splice OSP fibre cables into various FOSCs
· Dress and mount aerial FOSCs and cables. This may involve using a bucket truck, ladder, or climbing telecommunication poles with spurs. Working heights range from 15-40ft
· Dress and rack FOSCs and cables in pedestals, service boxes, vaults, and manholes
· Use OTDR, OLTS, and Power Meters to test, analyze, and troubleshoot fibre networks
· Read and interpret telecom design prints and update based on progress, changes, field findings
· Safely drive and maneuver vehicles into tight spaces and easements.
· Perform other duties as requested
