Description
The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. The Role: We are currently looking for Telehandler Operators with Rigging/Structural Steel Experience to join our Overhead Transmission Line team. This will be an allrounder, hand on role to assist in to assist with the day to day deliveries and works of structural steel at our tower pads. All employees will also be assisting with the assembly and erection of structural steel towers and require a Rigging license to assist in Rigging and Dogging works. The role will be based in Tarcutta, NSW working a 19/9 roster. FIFO/DIDO options available with all flights, accommodation and meals provided. Locals are encouraged to apply. Work hours are 10-12 hours per day. Responsibilities
This all-rounder role involves assisting with the day-to-day deliveries and handling of structural steel at tower pads for the HumeLink transmission project. Employees will also be required to assist with the assembly and erection of structural steel towers, utilizing rigging and dogging skills.
