Responsibilities:
Performs technical and patient care tasks and continuous observation, interpretation, recording, and communication of cardiac rhythms of monitored patients in a variety of age groups to the Registered Nurse and physician. Those hired to work evening and night shift will perform EKG’s during absence of Central EKG Telemetry Specialist during break/meal periods or sick leaves not able to be covered by part time or per diem Specialists.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff both orally and in writing.
Minimum Experience: Monitor Tech or fluent with Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation. Six months prior patient care experience; Nursing assistant, Pre-Nursing or Nursing Student (with completed A&P cour
Required Certification/Registration: Successful completion of course in cardiac arrhythmia interpretation (ECG Fundamentals & Basic Dysrhythmias: Part 1- A&P and ECG) with course completion certificate required. Successful test grade required after completion of advanced ECG interpretation class in order to remain in telemetry tech position. BLS certification current and ongoing. Those hired to work evening and night shift; EKG competency within 6 months of hire.
