Professional Development: Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities. How you will contribute The Telemetry Technician, under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring. Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient's physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff. Test equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to the supervisor. Additional requirements include: Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s degree preferred Licenses: EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred, or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN). Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire or evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
