Description This position will install and maintain telephone systems and premises cable. This position will also troubleshoot and repair telephone sets and communications devices. Personnel will complete work orders for the span of the administrative telephone system from the building entry point of communications cable to end-user devices. They will install and remove premises cable, resolve telephone troubles, and maintain communications equipment in remote huts and telecommunications closets. Requirements Skills: Pull in-building cable from building-entry point to the end user install jumpers and modify punch-down blocks for moves and changes punch down wiring at wall jacks and in-building terminals install, repair, and program telephone sets Experience: Personnel in these positions will have at least three (3) years of experience with (but not limited to) CAT 5 & CAT6, fiber cable, and EIA/TIA standards. They will have experience with analog, digital, and ISDN telephones; VoIP devices; and conferencing sets. They will have experience using Original Equipment Manufacturer test equipment including Noyes Optical Power Meters, Fluke butt sets and cable verifiers, and Greenlee testers.
