Inside the Launch Control Bench area in Rome, we are looking for a PLC & Control Software Engineer ACTIVITIES: The selected candidate will be responsible for the following activities: Design, develop, and maintain PLC applications mainly on Beckhoff TwinCAT and NI platforms, with exposure to Siemens (TIA Portal). Implement, integrate, and test automation and test-bench solutions, including HMI/SCADA and field I/O. Integrate industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, TCP/IP). Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing on-site when required. Produce technical documentation (design specs, test plans, user manuals) and contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related fields Technical skills and IT tools: Solid experience with PLC development—strongly preferred on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and NI (e.g., LabVIEW/TestStand); exposure to Siemens (TIA Portal/Step 7) is a plus. Experience with industrial communications and motion/control (EtherCAT, OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, TCP/IP). HMI/SCADA development (e.g., TwinCAT HMI, WinCC, NI tools). Familiarity with software engineering practices (OOP, design patterns, unit testing) and Git-based version control. Basic Windows administration; experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware) is preferred but not mandatory. Soft skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Team player with clear, proactive communication. Autonomy, adaptability, and customer orientation. Solid time management and attention to detail. Good knowledge of the English language is required. Availability for business trips, if necessary.
