Description Job Reporting Relationships Supervised by: Head Teller Supervises: None Basic Qualifications Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business or accounting curriculum. Skill(s): Moderate reading, writing, and grammar skills; proficient analytical and mathematics skills; proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills; proficient eye-hand coordination; ability to operate various office machines; technical supervisory skills and sufficient skills to provide assistance in training of entry level Tellers; ability to lift approximately fifty (50) lbs. of coin; visual and auditory skills. Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Teller I normally required. In addition to the preferred experience requirements, promotion from a Teller I to a Teller II is contingent upon the incumbent's ability to effectively perform multiple tasks, duties, and jobs throughout the division or department. General Responsibilities Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the paying and receiving function of the community office; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information. Does not have authority to make decisions with respect to hiring, firing, demotions or significant reassignments. Essential Duties 1. Assists in the supervision of Teller I personnel in order to provide efficient and accurate paying and receiving services as follows: a. Ensures that Teller I personnel are providing complete paying and receiving services to customers. b. Ensures that all paying and receiving, balancing and operational activities are done efficiently and according to policy: this includes the activities of Teller I personnel, ATM services and other paying and receiving activities c. Ensures that Teller I personnel work as part of the customer service team and that Teller I personnel take advantage of new business referral opportunities. d. Ensures the coordination of work, i.e., makes certain that the work of Teller I personnel is coordinated with other positions in the office, with centralized operations personnel and other departments. e. Ensures the preparation of other related reports as assigned by the Branch Manager f. Makes certain that all Tellers have an adequate supply of cash to conduct business; maintains level of cash according to approved unit cash management policies. g. Balances general ledger accounts related to the paying and receiving function, e.g., Utilities, Coin, Money Orders, inter-bank accounts, etc. h. Maintains supplies and an awareness of teller supply inventory control i. Balances and maintains currency and coin. j. Orders all currency and coin for the office; ships extra money k. Manages cash management records. l. Balance and/or service ATM machines. m. Balances vault cash each day for the office. n. Verify and wrap coin for vault cash control purposes. o. Prepares weekly schedule for Teller Personnel p. Performs all duties of Teller I personnel. (See Teller I job description) 2. May assist with special projects as assigned. 3. Provides leadership, on-the-job training and technical guidance to Teller I personnel. 4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel. 5. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy. 6. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. 7. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place. 8. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc. Ancillary Duties May be required, on occasion, to provide safe deposit box services to customers. May be required to provide support in non-paying and receiving activities, e.g., new accounts, loans, etc. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
