Description The A LA Carte Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of drinks, maintaining the bar area, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Requirements Beverage Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to guests' preferences. Ensure the accurate and efficient execution of drink orders, following established recipes and portion sizes. Provide recommendations on drink selections, offering knowledge of different types of beverages and mixology techniques. Customer Service: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Interact with guests, taking and processing drink orders promptly and accurately. Engage in friendly conversation with guests, providing attentive and personalized service. 2. Bar Setup and Maintenance: Set up the bar area prior to service, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment, glassware, and supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the event, including bar surfaces, equipment, and utensils. Restock bar supplies as needed, including beverages, mixers, garnishes, and napkins. 3. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all applicable health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of beverages and ingredients. Monitor guest behavior and consumption, complying with legal drinking age requirements and preventing over-service. Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor. 4. Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, answering questions, providing recommendations, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Collaborate with colleagues to address guest needs, resolve issues, and maintain a positive and professional work environment. Qualifications Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in a banquet or catering environment, is required. Extensive knowledge of beverage service and mixology techniques, including the ability to prepare a variety of cocktails, wines, and other beverages. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear and concise interactions with guests and colleagues. Basic math skills for cash handling and reconciliation. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, multitasking and prioritizing effectively. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy trays or supplies. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as banquet events often take place during these times. Professional appearance and grooming standards. Responsible alcohol service certification may be required, depending on local regulations
