JOB SUMMARY

Provide engineering services in support of systems and equipment associated with research efforts within an academic or research unit or laboratory. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
This is a temporary position, limited to 1300 hours or 12 consecutive months, and subject to ACA and GT guidelines for temporary employment.
Up to two years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience analyzing large-scale health care claims data
  • Experience building Tableau dashboards and data visualizations
  • Experience analyzing health care data using Python, R, SQL
  • Experience collaborating and communicating across cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with machine learning models and classification tasks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

This job requires application of engineering principles, processes and practices; application of regulations, codes and safety practices; utilization of basic and advanced computer applications
including those specific to areas of responsibility; communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1
Participate in the design, installation and testing of systems and components.
Job Duty 2
Develop engineering project schedules, plans, and specifications for systems and components.
Job Duty 3
Conduct analyses of system performance; prescribe corrective action
Job Duty 4
Troubleshoot systems; may involve calibration and repair work.
Job Duty 5
Prepare drawings, schematic diagrams and other documentation associated with components and systems.
Job Duty 6
Provide input to and administer project engineering budgets.
Job Duty 7
Interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
Job Duty 8
Participate in project reviews for conformance to quality standards and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned
