LEAD A NURTURING NURSERY KITCHEN IN WIGAN – TEMP HEAD CHEF OPPORTUNITY

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR – TEMP HEAD CHEF SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Lead Cook, or similar in schools, nurseries, care, or catering environments
  • Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene qualification (required)
  • Confident knowledge of allergen management and dietary needs in childcare catering
  • Passionate about children’s nutrition and making a positive impact
  • Organized, communicative, and reliable – able to run the kitchen independently
  • Clear enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain one)
  • Available for immediate start
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver nutritious, well-balanced meals for children, considering allergies and dietary needs
  • Prepare both hot and cold lunches and snacks in accordance with menu plans and food safety regulations
  • Order supplies, manage stock, and minimize wastage
  • Maintain a spotlessly clean, safe, and compliant kitchen at all times
  • Liaise with Nursery Management on special diets, menu feedback, and parent concerns
  • Supervise kitchen assistants (if required) and ensure smooth daily operation
  • Keep detailed records for food safety, allergens, and cleaning schedules
