FlexStaff is hiring a TEMP Office Admin/Insurance Authorizations Coordinator in Suffolk County. Location: Port Jeferson/Suffolk County Schedule: Monday- Friday (8:00a.m-4: 30p.m) Rate: $25/hr. Description: You will be responsible for managing the insurance approvals for treatments, tests, and medications. This role involves verifying patient eligibility, obtaining necessary authorizations, and maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with insurance policies. The Authorization Clerk will collaborate closely with clinical staff and insurance providers to address authorization issues and ensure a seamless experience for patients. Key Roles & Responsibilities: • Review and obtain insurance authorizations ensuring compliance with payer requirements. • Verify patient eligibility and coverage details with insurance providers to facilitate the authorization process. • Communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients to resolve any authorization issues or discrepancies that arise. • Regularly update clinical staff on the status of pre-authorizations and document approvals or denials in the EMR system. • Maintain accurate records of authorizations and follow up on pending cases to ensure timely processing. • Stay informed of current insurance policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and optimize authorization workflows. • Assist with front desk duties and patient intake as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department. Requirements : • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with insurance providers and clinical staff. • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills. • Familiarity with insurance policies, guidelines, and pre-authorization requirements. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
